Please be careful when self performing disposal repairs. The blades can be sharp and you can get your hand or wrist caught in the sink. Ensure that the unit is OFF and use a proper unjamming tool provided by the manufacturer.  If the unit is jammed or just hums when you turn it on, follow these steps:

• Turn the unit off and remove anything that has fallen into the grinding chamber.
• You may need to insert an unjamming tool into the bottom of the unit and turn clockwise. Once the tool turns freely, remove whatever caused the jam.
• If the unit appears to be dead, press the red reset button located on the bottom of the disposal – if the unit begins to hum and then trips again, it is still jammed and will need further work.

Do not twist, bend, or slam the microwave door.

Always use microwave safe dishes when operating your microwave.

Do not use aluminum foil in your microwave or any other metallic items, unless your microwave allows it. Aluminum and metal can ruin your microwave.

Regularly wipe the seal of the microwave door with a wet rag to remove and prevent excessive buildup on the door.

If your gas or electric oven is not heating, ensure that the timer/clock is set to manual. Consult your owner’s manual to adjust the timer/clock, as this may require unplugging the oven and accessing a panel on the back of the oven.

If your electric range isn’t lighting properly, check that the burners are positioned and sitting properly. If you have a gas stove that isn’t lighting properly, make sure that the pilot light is on.

Frustrated that your dishes aren’t being cleaned in your dishwasher? Test the water to see if it is at least 140 degrees F. If not, you may need to turn up the thermostat on your hot water heater.

Also, make sure that the bottom of the dishwasher is clean. Always follow proper loading procedures. Overloaded dishes can block moving parts and affect the flow of water and detergent.

If the dishwasher is leaking, ensure that you are following proper load procedures by running the dishwasher empty. If the dishwasher doesn’t leak through an empty cycle, you may be overloading the dishwasher under normal use.

If your washer is not working properly, ensure the lid is closed all the way and that nothing is obstructing it from latching. Ensure that the timer and all the controls are set properly and that the water faucets leading to the washer are turned on.

Always clean your lint filter after every load to promote a long lifespan for your dryer. This also reduces fire hazard.

If your clothes are not properly drying, see if the dryer is pushed back against the wall, closing off the rear exhaust duct and preventing airflow through the machine. Also, always make sure that the clothes you put in the dryer have gone through an adequate spin cycle in the washer so that they are damp, not wet.
